Mariah Carey posted a message on her Twitter, denying rumor that the male stalker she plays in upcoming "Obsessed" music video is a portrayal of Eminem. "I am NOT at any point in the video playing a specific person. I'm dressed as a 'stalker' in 3 different ensembles," so she wrote.
In another post, Mariah explained about the male character she portrays, "It was fun playing 'JoJo'(the stalker/doorman/photographer's asst) The photographer is played by the world famous, legendary...(Guess who!)." Minutes later, she gave another clue, "Hint: he is mentioned several times in one of my favorite movies 'The Devil Wears Prada'.."
Prior to Mariah's denial, her husband Nick Cannon has debunked speculation suggesting she wanted to fire back at the Slim Shady who previously mocked her in a song titled "Bagpipes in Baghdad".
He told MTV, "People keep saying ['Obsessed'] was directed at certain people. To be completely honest, she did the record 'cause she's a huge fan of this movie 'Mean Girls' and there's a line in the movie where one of the girls is like, 'Why are you so obsessed with me?' She says that at the beginning of the song, and that's where the concept came from. But you know, art imitates life."
"Obsessed" is one of the songs set to be listed in Mariah's upcoming new album "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel" which is slated for August 25 U.S. release. Its music video is directed by Brett Ratner, and will be debuted in "America's Got Talent" on July 15.
Beside filming the video for the song's original version, Mariah Carey also shot a video for its remix version. The singer revealed, "So, there are 2 videos for 'Obsessed' the original, and the remix feat. Gucci Mane. Both have a storyline where I play several parts." On what to expect from this video, a source close to the video production shared, "There is definitely new hotness in the Remix that is not in the original."
"V" star Scott Wolf tells "Extra" the new show might be a remake, but original fans of the 1983 sci-fi miniseries "Visitors" won't be disappointed.
Wolf says he's "excited" for the fans. "They're going to be getting their show back... in a pretty great, updated way," he explains.
In the new series, an alien arrives on Earth with seemingly good intentions. Morena Baccarin plays Anna, the leader of the extra-terrestrial visitors, and says not everything is as good as it seems. "We're going to offer technological advances and health care. Then you start to realize maybe that's not all that's going on." Baccarin jokes, "I love that aliens have to come down and give us health care."
Walking along the Vancouver backlot where the new V is being shot, Elizabeth Mitchell (best known as Lost's Juliet) is noting that when it comes to taking time to promote her new series, "It's worth it. Most of the time, you want to build the hype so something less than adequate can be put out there and people will swallow it.
But in this particular case, we're like, 'Just watch it!' That's all we really want you to do is actually just turn on your television and watch it, because then you'll want to watch the next one. You're going to think it's good. Otherwise, I wouldn't be out here saying, 'It's really good!'"
Directed by 'High School Musical's Kenny Ortega and chronicling the months from April through June 2009, the film is drawn from more than one hundred hours of behind-the-scenes footage, featuring Jackson rehearsing a number of his songs for the show. Audiences will be given a privileged and private look at the late, great "King of Pop" as he has never been seen before. In raw and candid detail, 'This Is It' captures the legendary entertainment icon at work as he creates and perfects his final show.
Having seen the film last night, it's an amazing "almost concert " film. Much credit goes to the editors, who put together some of the best footage of Jackson before his death. From start to finish, Jackson is simply the best at what he did - sing and dance. As frail as he appeared, his dancing mechanics were still as good as any of his younger dancers. For all his fans, this is the best raw footage you will see of "The Gloved One." If this was to be his ultimately swan song of his music career, he certainly gave us one hell of a show that will never be forgotten.
The playlist of song in the film includes 'Wanna Be Starting Something,' 'Jam,' 'They Don't Really Care About Us,' 'Human Nature,' 'Smooth Criminal,' 'The Way You Make Me Feel,' 'I Want You Back,' 'Stop The Love You Save,' 'I'll Be There,' 'Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground),' 'I Just Can't Stop Loving You,' 'Thriller,' 'Beat It,' 'Black or White,' 'Earth Song,' 'Billie Jean,' 'Man in the Mirror,' 'Heal the World' and the newly-released track 'This Is It.'
